Flower Workshop with W Girls DC

I am thrilled to be partnering with W Girls, DC Chapter for this fundraising event!

From W Girls:

Covid-19 has created a shadow pandemic with a surge of violence against women and girls. Emergency decisions by governments around the world to impose strict stay-at-home orders during the health crisis has intensified all types of violence against women and girls, particularly domestic violence.

The rise of infections has also continued to put a strain on health and essential services, including domestic violence shelters and helplines. It’s why the WGIRLS Washington DC chapter has chosen to support My Sister’s Place DCfor our second annual Spring Fundraiser.
For more than 40 years, My Sister’s Place DC has served as the cornerstone of the District’s response to pressing public health issues as the first domestic violence shelter in the city. It offers a full continuum of care, including emergency shelter and transitional-to-permanent housing.

Our chapter is proud to support their programs, including the Fresh Start Fund, which provides financial support for survivors so they can access housing and sustain homes -- removing financial barriers that keep them from building independent and safe lives.

This year, we are inviting supporters and the community-at-large to join us for

a virtual floral arranging workshop on:

Sunday, April 25 at 1:00 p.m. Eastern

Proceeds will benefit My Sister’s Place DC.

Special thanks to our partners Chelsea Fuss, a Lisbon-based florist

and DC local Little Shop of Flowers.
